Planet Earth is a ball

Kidding around with my brother on MSN, I pasted in a sentence from my thesis. He quickly responded by wrapping my words around another piece of knowledge: The earth is round. And from his experiment it seems that it will remain so no matter how many phrases of postmodern text research you surround it with.

And that, I guess, is a discovery with a world of possibilities. According to a TV-movie last night, looking around the curve of the universe you might see the future. My original sentence referred to Descartes' cogito, ergo sum. And as I am not quite able to grasp sizes larger than earth, the earth IS my universe. Right? Hence it should be physically possible to use the satelites to see the future.

The only problem is, that as I read more sources this thesis is constantly growing way above my head. And with it my universe, I suppose. Hopefully I will be able to break it down to a hundred or so pages of writing soon.

ps: would that make me master of the universe?

pps: surprisingly, this post was written without the aid of stimulants other than the reverse psychology of a deadline.
